Meg Zurbito Honors Silent Sanctuary In Her Latest Release

Filipinos’ penchant for “hugot” music has been around for quite some time already. Dozens of artists have their own share of songs that make listeners’ mope and cry. One such artist who stands out in this department is Ivory Music’s newest recruit, Meg Zurbito.

Meg started getting into music at a young age of 5. Her teachers urged her to sing during school programs. Her dad taught her how to play the guitar and her skill in songwriting came afterwards when she was tapped to write the theme song of our one of their theatre productions in high school.

She considers fellow acoustic artist Clara Benin and no less than the Beatles as her biggest idols. She dreams of collaborating with Clara and pop-alternative band Silent Sanctuary someday.

Merely 2 years in the music business, Meg has accomplished a lot. She has released 4 viral singles: “Paalam”, “Pakiusap”, “Salamat” and “Tayo” with accumulated streams across various platforms of more than a million. She is a consistent chart-placer on Spotify and most recently, she topped U Do U’s OPM Countdown with her recent hit “Pakiusap”. And now, Meg is poised to release her biggest song so far: an emotional cover of Silent Sanctuary’s most popular song, “Pasensya Ka Na”.

Covering a very popular “hugot” song of one of today’s biggest OPM bands might put a big pressure on Meg but the young singer considers this opportunity as a way of honoring the legacy of Silent Sanctuary. She is hopeful that the band, their fans and all music lovers would appreciate her work.

“Pasensya Ka Na” is due for worldwide digital release on February 5th, 2021 in Spotify, Apple Music and all major music platforms across the globe.
